Have you ever witnessed a star collapse? It’s an event that is equal parts beautiful and terrifying. Something created to give light to the universe for millennia, a “thing” larger than our imagination can conceive, a blazing sun created to spend its entire existence pouring forth praise to the glory of God…dies. And only with great difficulty can we describe what is left in its wake.

And during Passion Week we remember the death of Him through whom it was made.

This year, we will aim to wonder together at the breaking of our Maker. And we will do this by not only focusing on the events of Good Friday, but by focusing on Who it is that these events happened to. The night will include the singing of His praises, readings from God’s Word, and a short children’s message. There will not be kid’s classes during this service as we want our children to participate in the worship. As you prepare your heart to reverence the Son of God, consider who He is in light of His many biblical titles.

The King of Glory (Psalm 24:7)

The Author of Life (Acts 3:15)

Our Leader and Savior (Acts 5:31)

The Head of the Church (Eph 5:23)

Our great God…(Titus 2:13)

The Ruler of the kings on earth (Rev 1:5)

The Truth (John 14:6)

The Radiance of the glory of God (Heb 1:3)

Heir of the Nations (Psalm 2:8)

The Destroyer of the Devil (Heb 2:14)

The Abolisher of Death (2 Tim 1:10)

A Life giving Spirit (1 Cor 15:45)

He who was made to be sin for us (2 Cor 5:21)

The One seated far above all rule and authority and power and dominion (Eph 1:21)

We hope to see you there!

This event will take place on Friday March 30 at 6pm at the community center (4860 San Felipe Road San Jose, CA 95135). The service will be about an hour long and refreshments will be provided. There will be no kids classes.
