West Hills Leadership

Pastors, Staff, and Elders

Our leadership consists of an elders council that oversees the whole West Hills Community (Morgan Hill and Evergreen), and campus-specific leadership and staff. For a more detailed explanation of how our leadership functions at West Hills, please read here (pdf)

Joshua Camacho

Joshua Camacho

Pastor / Campus Elder

I currently serve as lead pastor and campus elder of the West Hills Evergreen campus. My primary ministries include preaching God’s Word, shepherding, and leading the Evergreen campus. I am also privileged to lead a community group, provide addiction recovery counseling, and occasionally lead worship on Sunday mornings.

I live in Santa Clara, CA with my amazing wife Jeanine and our three sons, Joshua, Samuel, and Asaph. My passion and life pursuit is to see Christ exalted in the Bay Area through the love of God proclaimed, and made manifest, through the local church. It is my goal to shepherd our congregation into the perpetual pursuit of this goal and to partner with other local congregations who are pursuing the same end.
I received my bachelor of science in Kinesiology from Fresno State in 2009 and–after receiving my call to the ministry–completed my Master of Divinity degree through Western Seminary in 2015 . I have enjoyed leading worship and community groups as well as engaging in one on one discipleship and evangelism. Since my installment as Pastor of West Hills Evergreen, I have focused primarily on shepherding, and preaching and teaching God’s Word. It is my hope and prayer that, by God’s grace, I can devote the rest of my life to this calling for the glory of God and for the joy and progress of the church’s faith.

Additionally, I enjoy reading, barbecuing, family days, and cheering for the Oakland Raiders. I also love meeting new people so come introduce yourself!

Pastor / Campus Elder

I am currently serving as a support pastor at the Evergreen campus working closely with Josh Camacho. My primary ministry focus is counseling, teaching the Scriptures, and supporting church operations.

I am a native Californian having been born and raised in Santa Clara. I attended San Jose State University where I completed a B.A. Economics and an M.S. Accounting. After college I received a CPA credential and worked as a consultant serving international clients. In 2005 the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to transition from Silicon Valley into vocational ministry. I completed an M.A. Biblical Counseling degree at The Master’s College in 2009 to better equip me for the work the Lord has called me to do. I currently live in Morgan Hill with my wife Colleen and our children Hannah, Essie, Elle and Mario. Colleen is my constant help in ministry, serving in the areas of missions and ministry to women and young mothers. Prior to our marriage, Colleen served as a missionary in Albania, teaching English and working within the church.

I became a Christian in high school as the result of the witness of another student (the gospel was new to me as I did not grow up in the church). The years that followed were marked by a slow but steady spiritual growth and a desire to enter missions. After college, I struggled spiritually as I grappled with career pressures and the fruit of my own spiritual compromise. This season ended when the Lord confronted me with my sin and showed me in a way I had never comprehended before the beauty of the gospel. Because the Lord started putting me in situations where I was informally counseling others I began taking counseling classes at The Master’s College to become better equipped for ministry. One of my passions in ministry is to connect with people who are grappling with the messiness of real life and help them connect where they are with what it means to walk with Jesus in the “real life” world that we live in.

I also server as the Executive Pastor and an elder in the West Hills Community supporting both our Morgan Hill and Evergreen congregations.

Worship Leader

I grew up in the South Bay Area and have attended West Hills Community Church since birth. God worked in my life through the ministries at WHCC to ultimately lead me to follow Jesus at age 17. He has been my treasure ever since, and He transforms my life every day. I have volunteered in WHCC Morgan Hill youth ministry, worship music ministry, and missions ministry since 2002. I am excited to see people grow to know God at a deeper level, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing God’s healing power at work in the lives of people who face the hardships of this broken world, the greatest of which is the sin we all experience. I absolutely love how God takes simple, lost people like me and makes them His children, fellow heirs with Christ!

After meeting and ministering alongside one another at WHCC, my wife Alisha and I were married in 2009. As of now, Alisha has temporarily stepped out of her career as a registered nurse in order to care for our two sons, Jachin and Elijah. I worked as a commercial electrician and estimator/project manager for 10 years before leaving that career to join staff at WHCC.

In March of 2016, I was privileged to join WHCC Evergreen staff as the pastoral resident and worship leader. I completed my BA in Christian Counseling through Liberty University in the Spring of 2017 and am currently enrolled in the M. Div program at Western Seminary in Milpitas, CA. I prayerfully aspire to enter full-time pastoral preaching ministry in the coming years, and I eagerly wait to see what God is planning and directing.

Children's Ministry Director

I grew up in a Christian home and came to the Lord personally as a child. My husband David and I were married in 1993 while I was finishing undergrad work at San Jose University to become an Occupational Therapist. We now have three children – Kathleen, Micah, and Chloe.

Currently, I serve as the coordinator of the Children’s Ministry Team at West Hills – Evergreen, as a project leader for Pleasant Acres 4-H, and on the West Hills Homeschool Group steering committee.

Working with all age groups in a church setting since 1988, I have seen the impact that God’s Word has on young people through lessons, activities, and mentors serving as teachers. I plan to continue encouraging future generations to seek God’s love.

Campus Elder

My wife Robin and I have been connected with West Hills in some form or another for over two decades. We have “quite a few” children of our own;) and also love to invest in the children’s ministry at West Hills. I love to teach and preach, disciple younger men, and lead studies/community groups. I enjoy finding ministry opportunities which help in unique ways which are often overlooked. I obtained my Masters in Divinity from Western Seminary, which has opened many doors for me to shepherd effectively.

Campus Intern

I was blessed to be born into a Christ-centered family. My parents became members of West Hills Community Church when I was two years old and by the grace of God I have been following Jesus from a young age. After receiving the call from God to enter ministry at the age of eighteen, I completed my Bachelors of Science in Biblical Studies in 2013, and I will complete my Master of Divinity from Liberty University in December 2017.

Aside from my own pastoral development, my internship focuses on evangelism and local mission. My passion is to see the name of Jesus exalted throughout the world and to equip the saints at West Hills for the work of that mission.

I live in Morgan Hill with my incredible wife, Vanessa, and our four children, Calvin, Owen, Geneva, and Avonlea. My favorite pastimes are morning coffee with my wife, reading, exercising, and being outdoors with my family.
